Silicon Valley tech professional salaries rose 7.2 percent in 2013 to an average of $108,603, according to a survey by tech-career site Dice. That marks the biggest increase in the country and pinpoints Silicon Valley as the highest paid tech market.
The national average was a 3 percent increase, to $87,811.
Despite the lift in pay, the report found fewer Silicon Valley tech professionals (54 percent) are satisfied with their compensation, down from last year’s 59 percent. And 67 percent of those tech pros think they can find a better new position this year, a more confident group than the 65 percent who feel the same nationwide.
The average 2013 bonus for Silicon Valley tech professionals was $12,458. Nationwide, it was $9,323.
Dice surveyed 17.236 tech professionals.Read more about the report here.
