(San Diego) 'High Tech' career event for women

LIBERTY STATION — Women who are interested in learning about careers in technology are encouraged to attend "High Tech = High Pay For Women: Your Career Path" this Saturday in Liberty Station.

Sponsored by the American Association of University Women San Diego Branch, and coordinated by Palomar College faculty and staff members Lillian Payn and Mireya Gutierrez-Aguero, the event will feature a panel of women who who will share their career paths.

Panelists include June Chocheles of Chocheles Consulting Group, Leslie Fishlock of Geek Girl, Teri Louden of Louden Network, Tina K. Ngo of the San Diego Workforce Partnership, Lisa Vaughn-Olstad of AQUENT and Jen Weissman of Social Media, Project X Media. Also included are STEM advisors Gutierrez-Aguero of Palomar College and Celia Martinez of Cal State San Marcos.

High-tech trends in San Diego as well as local science, technology, engineering and mathematics educational opportunities will be presented. "Must-have" social media networking skills will also be discussed. Experts will also offer suggestions during a complimentary resume review segment of the event.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Women’s Museum of California in Liberty Station at 2730 Historic Decatur Road, Suite 103. Suggested donation is $10 or $5 for members and students.
