How to Run a Summer Computing Camp - Register by Wednesday 10/30 2013

The upcoming "How to Run a Summer Computing Camp" workshop scheduled this coming Saturday, November 2nd from 10am - 3pm in San Diego and also available remotely.

Registration is required and is due no later than this Wednesday

The Expanding Computing Education Pathways (ECEP) Alliance (ACCESS is an active participant) is providing this workshop for college/university faculty and high school teachers who are interested in starting or expanding computing summer camps. Attendees will be eligible to apply for up to $4999.99 in "seed" funds which can be used to buy equipment for the camps. We especially would like to make these summer camps available to students who would otherwise not have such an opportunity: girls, low-income students, rural and urban students and students of color.

This workshop will help participants plan and run computing summer camps for elementary (rising 4th graders) to high school students. It will explain how to make the camps financially self sustaining. It will also cover logistics, budget, timeline, how to advertise the camps, how to handle registration, items to use in the camps, and how to apply for the "seed" money for equipment.

Please feel free to forward this announcement.

Thanks so much.
