CCC C-ID Course Descriptor Review Related to IT Model Curriculum

Dear Information Systems Faculty,

Please forward this message on to all interested parties.

I am contacting you from the Course Identification Numbering System (C-ID). Please read the following announcement regarding the revised Information Technology Model Curriculum (IT MC) now available for review.

The Information Systems Faculty Discipline Review Group (IS FDRG) is submitting three additional descriptors for vetting in hopes of expanding the number of electives contained in the new IT Model Curriculum and thereby allowing colleges with existing CISCO® and Information Security programs to more easily implement the IT MC.

Please go to the “TMC” tab at http://www.c-id.net in order to provide feedback by March 6, 2015 on the Information Technology Model Curriculum . Your comments regarding areas needing improvement, as well as where you are in agreement with the model curriculum, are both appreciated. The direct link to the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Information_Technology_MC_Second_Vetting

Once finalized, California community colleges may choose to adopt the model curriculum (developing a degree that aligns with the proposed curriculum) and, as a consequence, benefit from a fast-tracked process through the CCC Chancellor’s Office.

In addition, you are encouraged to log on to the C-ID website and provide feedback on the three draft descriptorsPlease leave your feedback by March 6, 2015.
