Kimberly Bryant at Black Girls Code Receives White House "Champions of Change" Award for Tech Inclusion

Kimberly Bryant receives a "Champions of Change" award for Tech Inclusion by the White House.

On Wednesday, July 31st, our founder, Kimberly Bryant, was among 11 honorees to receive the White House’s “Champions of Change for Tech Inclusion." The initiative, which President Obama launched this years, celebrates people “who are doing extraordinary things to expand technology opportunities for young learners—especially minorities, women and girls, and others from communities historically underserved or underrepresented in tech fields.”

Please join us for a Hangout On Air in celebration of women and girls in computer science. This will be an exciting conversation with representatives from organizations working to encourage women in computer science. Participants will discuss why there is a gender gap in computer science, how they are improving the ratio, and how we can all work together to create a more diverse field in computer science.
