May 23rd, sf.citi and Silicon Valley Leadership Group co-hosted 7th Annual
Women & Girls Leadership Summit @ Metro Arts & Technology High School
in SF's Bayview/Hunters Point. Over 100 women role models from tech, financial
services, non-profit and government sectors gathered all-day as mentors to
empower young women from our underserved city schools, energizing students to
take pride in their educational journey, focus on future careers, and inspire
fulfilling & productive lives.

The interactive agenda gave speakers the chance to dialogue candidly
on life experiences, sources of motivation, and the universal quest for
self-betterment regardless of circumstance. A $5,000 contribution from SVLG
provided Metro High the ability to purchase science and math curriculum
materials. Speakers included sf.citi Vice Chair Heather Harde, Supervisor Malia
Cohen, City Administrator Naomi Kelly, Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White, AT&T
Exec Loretta Walker, Amgen Exec Dineli Wickramasinghe, Ellen Barker of Texas
Instruments, Shelly Doran of Webcor, and Amy Lynch of Comcast.

Tech speakers also featured Heather Champ of Flikr &
Pinwheel,Hadiyah Mujhid of Black Founders & Picture.ly, and Yan Heim of
Froomz. The third portion of the day placed women mentors in break-out
classroom sessions. Some tech classroom speakers included Emily Peters, Kellie
Menendez, and Tamara Kahn of sf.citi member company Practice Fusion.
