San Francisco Citizen's Initiative for Technology & Innovation has grown to over 190 member companies and counting. We believe the tech community & City government can work together, supercharge our economy, and find technocratic solutions to historic issues facing San Francisco.

We ask that all our members encourage your team, staff, colleagues, and friends to sign up for updates on our website to help cultivate the community, keeping people informed, connected.

Thanks to our community for supporting SummerQAmp, a nationwide initiative to train American youth in high-tech skills like QA. SummerQAmp has set a goal of creating 1000 internships and are excited to have already received 100+ commitments. Next steps for interested companies: make your formal commitment to take on a specific number of QA interns this summer. We're asking companies to make their commitments by April 1st to ensure time enough time to fill positions for this summer.
You will then receive instructions to post and tag your internships in the White House's Summer Jobs+ database.

March 20, hosted a panel featuring special guests Mayor Lee, SV Angel Investor & Chairman Ron Conway, Marvell Technology Group Co-Founder Weili Dai, District 2 Supervisor Mark Farrell, and Yelp CEO & Co-Founder Jeremy Stoppelman. Moderated by Federated Media Founder John Battelle, the panel offered a fresh look at industry trends, future markets, new products, and analysis of tech's impact on SF culture & economy. Conway spoke on migration of tech companies to SF, collaborative consumption challenging status quos, and social content curation as a multi-billion dollar market. Mayor Lee pointed to employment training, identifying skill sets necessary to recruit locally. Mayor Lee sees blending art, music, and tech to grab international markets will draw people to SF. As startups grow they outgrow space, Farrell says, we must ensure environments suit expanding markets. Farrell sees interactive hospitality and nonprofit donation apps as up & comers. Mr. Stoppelman explored mobile markets, the changing nature of search engines, and mobile technology overtaking desktops. Weili Dai forecasts cloud computing and 2-way viewing streams.

RESULTS ARE IN! STARTUP VETERANS WEEKEND HACKATHON partner TechCentralSF, with Mayor Lee, Craig Newmark, and IAVA hosted a successful biz startup and app development competition, Startup Veteran's Weekend Hackathon @ Adobe in SF. Cosponsored by, this 2-day brain gain marathon paired veterans, engineers, designers, marketers, & software architects in search of next generation social, mobile, gaming, ecommerce, and healthcare apps. Some results: Social enterprise platform & topics board to share and capture employees' ideas in real-time. "ARGZombies" mobile game, where phones are portals to the zombie apocalypse, virtual game-play overlays real life in real time based on geo-location. "VitalityLinks," a remote health monitoring app to socially or self-monitor veteran's reintegration progress to civilian life. "P.E.A.C.E Museum," quantum computing reaction feedback to art, transparency bidding based auctions. "Rebound Inc" engages social platforms for physical therapy, wearable sensors capturing, and allowing therapists to track patient's progress on mobile dashboards. Hackathon winner "Collectio," created and hashed in less than 24 hours, aggregates & builds collectors different product sets onto the same site, leveraging the community of collectibles and hobbyists in a $10 Billion a year market where there currently exists no online equivalent.
