UC study spells out wireless network future with overwhelming data demand

"A new study from the Global Information Industry Center at the University of California at San Diego spells out a scenario of heavy data demand and network congestion and suggests that citizens need to significantly lower their expectations for wireless services in the future.

"The report said that U.S. wireless networks have traditionally doubled their capacity ever 30 months to keep up with demand. However, this trend might not keep wireless operators ahead of the demand curve as the volume of data traffic on U.S. networks is anticipated to increase by 1800 percent during the next four years."

This demand should result in job demand also.
