PCATT IT Symposium Registration Closing May 6th

Greetings!

On behalf of Steve Auerbach, PCATT Director, Monir Hodges, IT Summit Co-Chair, and Steve Singer, IT Summit Co-Chair, we would like to encourage any procrastinators to please take this last opportunity to register for the PCATT IT Symposium, to be held at PCATT/Honolulu Community College, Thursday and Friday, May 21 and 22.

This is our 13th annual PCATT IT Symposium, with our widest array of presenters in technology education and educational technology to date. The theme for the conference this year is Securing Our Future through Technology and Education. Experts in cybersecurity, data science, data virtualization, data visualization, web design automation, gamification, SDN, IPv6, Internet of Things, digitalization, Hawaii DoE one-to-one deployments, and mobile app development will share with us during the keynote presentations and breakout sessions.

Wednesday, May 6, is the last day to register!

To register, go to pcatt.org/itsymposium and enter the passphrase Pcatt2015it$.

For more conference information, please see pcatt.org/it-symposium (note the hyphen).

We are pleased to announce that Russell Decker, Vice Commander of the National Security Agency (NSA) Hawaii, will be our keynote speaker on Thursday.

And Dr. Jason Leigh, renowned Big Data Visualization expert, inventor of SAGE software, founder of LAVA laboratory, and creator of the CAVE and Cyber-CANOE virtual environments, will be the plenary speaker on Friday.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Mid-Pacific Information and Communication Technologies center (MPICT) for sponsoring the IT Symposium this year (and the last two years!). MPICT will be hosting breakout sessions for each of our six time slots during the conference, as well as the pre-conference technical workshops. Special thanks go to MPICT Principal Investigator, Pierre Thiry, and MPICT Executive Director, James Jones.

We are especially grateful to the Fujio Matsuda Technology Training Center, under the leadership of Billie Takaki-Lueder, Director of Communications for Honolulu Community College, for sponsoring neighbor island travel. We are pushing x0030 (practice your hexadecimal-to-decimal conversion) neighbor island attendees this year.
