The
National CyberWatch Center is joining
with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Cyber
Security Alliance, and the Multi-State Information Sharing and
Analysis Center in celebrating National Cyber Security Awareness
Month (NCSAM) 2014.
Throughout the
month we will highlight the issue of cybersecurity on our website, in
this newsletter, and in our social media posts. We hope you will join
our efforts to promote this issue. Online safety and security are
shared responsibilities; together we can positively impact our online
community.
"Awareness
is an important first step; a next critical step is formal education
and training. Consider the roles community colleges have been playing
and will continue to play, in helping solve some of the country's
cybersecurity challenges - whether it's recruiting from untapped
pools of security-ready technicians with demonstrated skills that can
directly benefit your business or agency; or customized content tied
to the validation of skills; community colleges around the country
are ready to continue to engage in the protection of the critical
systems that ensure a functioning civil society."
