Greetings
Cybersecurity Workforce Framework Partners,
Get ready! The updated National
Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (Workforce Framework) interactive online tool
is scheduled for release on May 15, 2014.
As
you know, last year the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) put forth tremendous effort to update the Workforce
Framework to reflect the evolving cybersecurity field and changes in
technology. The Workforce Framework incorporates expert input from government, private industry, and academia stakeholders.
Benefits of the Workforce Framework
The
updated Workforce Framework is an important tool in building and maintaining
the highly skilled and agile workforce needed to protect the nation. It
provides the necessary structure and common language for standardizing the
cybersecurity field. Having a common language:
·
Helps academic
institutions and training providers develop relevant training for cybersecurity
jobs
·
Gives students
and job candidates a better understanding of the skills needed for
cybersecurity careers
·
Provides
employers with clear skill requirements to use for recruitment, selection and
workforce development
- Provides
employees with clear skill requirements for professional development
- Supports policy makers charged with setting standards to promote workforce professionalization
Using the Workforce Framework
The Workforce Framework can serve as
the foundation for all your organization’s cybersecurity initiatives, policies,
and workforce activities (e.g., recruitment, training and education, position
description, curriculum development).
Customized Workforce
Framework User Guides for three audience groups (employers, academic
institutions and training organizations) plus additional resources will be
available on the NICCS™ website at www.niccs.us-cert.gov/training/national-cybersecurity-workforce-framework.These resources provide step-by-step
implementation instructions and tips on how best to use the Workforce Framework
for your needs.
With your continued support, the
Workforce Framework will remain a valuable and useful resource for the nation!
If you’re a Training Provider, we will
soon be opening the Training Catalog for all submissions. Please stay tuned for
more information – it’s coming soon!
Thank you in advance for your support!
