Workforce a Top Priority of 2013 California Economic Summit
Workforce was named one of the seven signature priorities identified by 16 regional forums that led up to the November Summit. Van Ton-Quinlivan co-led the Workforce Action Team alongside Alma Salazar of the LA County Chamber Of Commerce. CTE Report
Preserving High Cost CTE – New Report
The Summit's Playbook galvanized shared commitment to address capacity issues that constrain the ability of community colleges to respond to career technical education (CTE) needs of their regional economies. IHELP’s new report, "Workforce Investment: State Strategies to Preserve Higher-Cost Career Education Programs in Community and Technical Colleges," documents how 20 other states have approached this issue. Website Relaunch Readies for Employer Outreach
The Employer Resources section of the Doing What MATTERS for Jobs & the Economy website has been updated to integrate with the content of the newly redesigned Economic and Workforce Development website. This lays the foundation for outreach to employers in 2014.  Help employers navigate our system when in search of training by sharing these sites.

State Agencies Collaborate to Target Investment at Key Sectors
The California Employment Training Panel took advantage of the new Sector Navigator structure to make investments in the Advanced Manufacturing workforce. The ETP approved a $1.2 million statewide job training grant to be led by the El Camino Community College District. Read more »
