The Hour of Code is Coming!
This December, to celebrate Computer Science Education Week, we’re organizing a massive campaign to encourage 10 million students to try an Hour of Code. This will be the largest initiative of its kind, ever.
We're recruiting teachers, educators and community organizers to help students of all ages spend one hour learning basic computer science.
Learn how to organize an Hour of Code for your students
No experience needed
The Hour of Code is an introduction to computer science designed to demystify "code" and show that anyone can learn the basics. There will be several hour-long tutorials anybody can do - on a web-browser, tablet, smartphone, or even with no computer at all.
Calling all students – regardless of age
Computer science is an important foundation for all students, for all careers. Too many students think programming is hard or requires math; the Hour of Code is designed to inspire.
Prizes for EVERY Educator!
EVERY educator who organizes an Hour of Code will receive 10GB of free DropBox storage as a thank you gift.
Organize for your entire school and win a class-set of laptops
We’ll gift 50 class-sets of laptops to 50 lucky schools, one in every state. Organize for every grade in your school to take the Hour of Code to qualify.
Let's make history: Register now to organize an Hour of Code for your students
Do you already teach Computer Science?
If you teach computer science, use the Hour of Code as a recruiting tool. Work with your principal to bring the Hour of Code to every student in your school. More info
Non-English language support
The Hour of Code materials will be available in several languages. If you want to help us as a volunteer translator, let us know.
