Free San Francisco Faculty Development in San Francisco, June 17-21!

It is not tool late to join us for the outstanding FREE faculty development event in San Francisco, June 17-21, for which qualified community college faculty in ICT related programs in California, Nevada, Hawaii or the Pacific Territories may receive stipends or travel expense reimbursements, courtesy of the National Science Foundation and the CCC Chancellor's office.  105 of your peers have registered so far.

The southern California Faculty Development Week is currently underway, with roughly 100 instructors in attendance. 

ICT is fast moving and hard to keep up with.  These tracks offer opportunities to gain valuable new knowledge and skills in developing the ICT workforce.

This week's focus:
  • Learn storage technologies from market mover Netapp in this first time offering for community college ICT educators in the MPICT region in San Francisco
  • Learn how to integrate problem-based learning into ICT classes in San Francisco

Cable Car 

Six "Train the trainer" tracks to prepare faculty to teach new or improve existing courses or programs:
  1. Cisco IT-Essentials (Also Available to High School Teachers)
  2. Cisco CCNA 1 Version 5 (Also Available to High School Teachers) - Class Full
  3. Accelerated NetApp Certified Storage Associate (NCSA) Boot Camp (See video interview for why to attend)
  4. Content Management Systems (CMS) Fundamentals and Security
  5. User Experience and Interaction Design Intensive
  6. Packet Analysis and Intrusion Detection - Class Full
One pedagogical track to impart new teaching and learning skills: 
  1. Teach Your Students to Think for Themselves with Problem-based Learning (and Make Employers Happy)
