Next Generation Science Standards

The second draft of the NGSS is now available for public feedback. To review the draft and provide feedback online during the comment period, click here. Below is the NGSS Adoption Timeline: 

• January 8-29, 2013 - Public review period
• February 2013 - The national writing team and lead states will analyze the public comments and make final revisions. 
• March 2013 - Final standards to be released
• July 31, 2013 - CDE must present NGSS & recommendations to State Board of Education by this date 
• November 30, 2013 - Deadline for State Board to act on NGSS (approve, reject, modify)
