60 Minutes Report


This past Sunday CBS News program 60 Minutes reported that millions of jobs are waiting to be filled, but employers say they can't find qualified workers because of "the skills gap." Klaus Kleinfeld, CEO of aluminum company Alcoa, tells Byron Pitt that workers need a combination of education and skills that are in demand by employers and cites "traditional career path is dead". Many of the "Skills Gap" jobs are in ICT, or involve ICT skills in other occupations.  Public education needs to step up its game in preparing students with in-demand ICT Workforce skills.
