NCL Fall Pilot Season Invitation - Individual Virtual Exercises and Competitions Based on CompTIA Security+

National Cyber League (NCL)
Invitation to Register for the 2012 Fall Season Pilot
“Cyber-Competitions Created and Optimized for Individuals”

Are you teaching or taking, or have you already taken a class to prepare for CompTIA Security+ certification?  If so, we would like to invite you to register for the Fall 2012 NCL Pilot Season!

The Fall 2012 NCL pilot season provides cybersecurity lab exercises and competitions aligned to common Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Security+ curriculum and performance objectives. Students will practice with 16 virtual preparatory lab exercises aligned to Security+ curriculum - akin to conditioning and training in athletics. Then, students will compete as individuals in a Regular Season comprised of 3 competitions, also based on the CompTIA Security+ performance-based exam objectives. All exercises and competitions will be available and accessible to all with high speed Internet connections via virtual NCL Cyber Stadiums.

Regular Season competitions will take place the weekends of October 13th, October 27th and November 10th. Then, the top 10 individuals in each of the three NCL Conferences will qualify for the NCL Championship, which will be conducted remotely December 1, 2012.

These competitions will be created and optimized for individuals and designed to provide hands-on experiences and challenges that will help students develop and improve their cybersecurity skills.

We strongly encourage individuals taking Fall courses covering Security+ (or related) curricula to register and participate in the NCL Fall Pilot. In addition, we encourage faculty to incorporate the NCL Syllabus into their existing courses.

In order to access the preparatory lab exercises and compete in the Regular Season competitions, please register at https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07e6bk4w6s7bd6e138&oseq. The registration deadline is September 15th. Participation is limited, so register as soon as possible.
