California Smart Grid Call

California Community College faculty in ICT related programs are invited to attend a call on Smart Grids and their implications for educational programs.

Purpose of the call:
• Hear others/share your interests in Smart Grid
• Increase our knowledge about Smart Grid
• Find out where the opportunities are and who to connect with if you'd like to be involved

About our co-conveners:
• Pete Shoemaker is the Renewables Program Coordinator at the PG&E Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco. He handles a variety of courses for the PEC, including those on solar electric (PV) systems, solar water heating systems, and Smart Grid.
• Jim Caldwell is the Executive Director of Workforce Incubator; the Workforce Specialist for the Sacramento State Smart Grid Center; and has been working on a statewide Smart Grid Initiative for the past year.

Who might consider joining this call?
• Colleges with Electronics Technology, CISCO Academy/Information Communications Technology, Electric Power Utilities, and/or Engineering Transfer (oriented toward electrical/electronics) programs; holders of grants with a Smart Grid component; those of us just wanting to get a sense for what Smart Grid is :-)
