"Ookla today launched a revamped version of their Speedtest.net broadband speed test website and broadband testing tools, making a number of changes to maps and the test server selection process. Results and many maps are significantly more detailed, and all the results continue to be accessible via their Net Index -- which breaks down test results by country, city and state. The company also integrated significant social networking functionality, allowing users to compare tests and start a "Speed Wave," something Ookla insists will allow users to to compare their speed against others, or create competitions through awarded badges."
