HI-TEC Conference July 2011 CFP




CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS - Submission due date: February 1, 2011
HI-TEC (High Impact Technology Exchange Conference) is a national conference on advanced technical education where community college and university faculty, high school teachers, workforce development advocates, counselors, industry professionals, and technicians can update their knowledge and skills. Charged with Educating America's Technical Workforce, the event focuses on the preparation needed by the existing and future workforce for companies in the high-tech sectors that drive our nation's economy.

HI-TEC invites you to attend the 2011 conference and to submit a presentation proposal. The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, California, on July 25–28. Presentations will be in two categories: conference sessions and poster sessions. All presentations related to engineering technology education will be considered, but the following are areas of particular interest to the organizers:

• Technicians in the Workplace

• Engineering Technology

• Advanced Manufacturing

• Communication and Security

• Student Learning

• GIS/IT Technology

• Energy and Environment

• Technology Policy

• Micro and Nano Technology

• Technology Programs

• Chemical and Biotechnology


The focus of the conference is on community and technical colleges. Presentations by secondary educators will be considered if they relate to secondary-to-postsecondary transitions.
