Online Teaching Conference 2012: Register Now


2012 Online Teaching Conference | The Many Faces Of Online Teaching | Evergreen Valley College, San Jose, June 13-15"Join your community college colleagues in San Jose this June for a conference focused on online education, including delivery of online services such as student, faculty, library and technical support.

"The OTC, now in its 11th year, focuses on community college faculty, staff and administrators engaged (or interested) in online education including delivery of online services. This year’s conference will be held June 13-15, 2012, at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, California. This year's theme is “The Many Faces of Online Teaching” with special emphasis on open content, textbooks and applications, as well as the many faces of individuals involved in online education.
The conference keynote addresses help to illustrate the theme:

Keynote, Thursday, June 14: "When Distance Is Dead: The Implications of Global and Open Education," Yong Zhao

Zhao is currently Presidential Chair and Associate Dean for Global Education, College of Education at the University of Oregon, where he also serves as the director of the Center for Advanced Technology in Education (CATE). He is a fellow of the International Academy for Education.

Keynote, Friday, June 15: "Confessions of a Reluctant Online Instructor," Amelito Enriquez

Enriquez is a Professor of Engineering and Mathematics at Cañada College, Redwood City, California.
Both in-person and/or online attendance are available. Early bird registration ends April 20th. Online attendance is free, however registration is still required. In-person attendee fees include breakfast and lunch.
